Late night round-up: Nate Bargatze, Kenny Deforest prevent stand-up blackout

Stand-up comedy was almost blacked out of late night these last two weeks. The Tonight Show was the only network talk show to feature a stand-up in the whole week—the hilarious Nate Bargatze last Friday. This week, Kenny Deforest is the only stand-up this week, doing a killer set on The Late Late Show with James Corden. Ronny Chieng and Aparna Nancherlawill both be on late night Friday night, but

Late night round-up: The Tonight Show showcases James Veitch, Rachel Feinstein

Seth Meyers has a good excuse for not showcasing any stand-up comedians this week: Late Night with Seth Meyers has been on hiatus. Maybe Meyers used that vacation time to check out some indie comedy shows to find the next comic he wants to feature. Probably not, but maybe. It’s been two-and-a-half months since the SNL alum let a stand-up tell some jokes. What’s up with that? It was a

Late night round-up: Mark Normand, Aparna Nancherla

Late night was light with their stand-up offerings this week. But if you’re only going to have two comedians do sets, Aparna Nancherla and Mark Normand are fantastic choices. The two are favorites amongst true comedy nerds and both popped by the late night shows with strong punchlines and overall funny sets. It’s worth noticing that Late Night with Seth Meyers and Jimmy Kimmel Live! continue their blackout on stand-up

No, you’re not in a time warp. Jay Leno did stand-up on The Tonight Show this week. And don’t worry: It’s still Jimmy Fallon’s show. This week gave us some strong stand-up sets. Late night round-up: Mo Welch, Colin Quinn

Not a lot of stand-up on the late night shows this week. Mo Welch made a solid late night stand-up debut on Conan where she reminds everyone how weird it is to be from Normal, Illinois. Certainly worth a watch. Colin Quinn popped by The Late Show with Stephen Colbert this week. Quinn did not do any stand-up, but he did give us a taste of his new one-man show
